This phrase is showing imagery as you can see as it explains the black background of the sky with a last glimpse of gold. She is trying to make us see that image. Imagery is a a form of trying to tell somebody something by making them imagine it. Or having an image physically in front of you. Not only are they trying to give you an image of what they are trying to explain however sometimes there trying to put you in that situation. In this phrase they are trying to put you in the story by not only saying the sky is blue and the a little gold however they are telling you the moss is soft and warm and that it is cold outside. By giving the readers feeling and sight you can make them feel as if they are right there in the story.
Ch.7 “We swung our fist through the window pain, and we leapt out in a ringing rain of glass.”
This phrase is showing imagery as you can see you are trying to imagine how he broke out of the glass. Imagery is a a form of trying to tell somebody something by making them imagine it. Or having an image physically in front of you. Not only are they trying to give you an image of what they are trying to explain however sometimes there trying to put you in that situation. In this phrase they are trying to make you feel what he is feeling as he brakes the glass and lands on the glass with his feet.
C.7 “ONLY THE GLASS BOX IS LIKE A LIVING HEART.”
This is a simile. A simile is when you give objects to human characteristics. Such as here a glass box really can’t be a heart. Or another example is the frog is walking with two legs. Her in this situation they are comparing the box as if it is the heart of the world. It is what holds all the truth and what keeps this world moving. Just like our hearts it keeps our body moving and without our heart or without the box. The world stops. Not only does it shut the world off in this situation but it shocks the world and makes the whole difference in the world.
