Anthem
Ayn Rand
Parts 9-10

Describe a choice made by a character in the novel. Why did the character make this choice? Was his or her action justified?

In this novel choices both positive and negative are very present and obvious to the reader. One can see that the books main story is built by a series of choices chosen by the main character. This is true since the beginning of the book where the character chooses to conceal all of his discoveries from the council. Equality 7-2521 chooses to hide his discoveries because he knows that if he does the council wont allow his to continue. They will rip apart all of his work and isolate him form society, the can also eliminate him. However, against all of the odds, he tells his secrets for two different people, International 4-8818 and Liberty 5-3000. That is because together with his discoveries came trust and confidence. On the other hand, things like suspicions and questioning also came along.
